It's been a while since we last reviewed our pricing. It was in fact, the second half of 2019, pre-Pandemic. The key driver at the time, was a fall in the value of Sterling against the US Dollar. Whilst exchange rates may now be less volatile, there are a whole host of new factors that are driving prices up, across the board.
As regards roasted coffee beans, we would suggest that the top three are:
Increased demand for speciality coffee. Consumer awareness and changes in working habits have driven massive growth in the demand for premium coffee for the home.
Climate change: Unseasonal weather has adversely impacted harvests in Brazil pushing up the price of coffee from there with a knock-on effect on supplies from neighbouring countries.
Difficulty and increased cost of moving goods through the supply chain. We're talking about scarcity of, and exponential increase in cost of shipping containers, road haulage and so on.
These and other factors mean we need to make some adjustments to our own pricing. These changes will primarily affect our blends. Small bags will be priced at or around £7.25 and 1kg bags at or around £25.00.
FREE tracked, shipping will continue to apply on orders of £20.00 or more.
As coffee professionals, we have taken great care to ensure our coffees offer quality as well as value for money. We have been awarded Great Taste Awards by The Guild of Fine Food every year since 2018. Last year, our Classic Blend won 3 stars, putting it in the top 2% of all products entered and went on to be nominated for a Golden Fork!
We also continue to take steps to reduce our environmental footprint and invest in our staff ensuring that we can continue to meet the needs of our customers.
Our new pricing will come into effect 1st May 2022.
Orders received up to close of business Saturday, 30th April will be fulfilled at current prices.
