A funny rhyme, a new farmers market, music for coffee, a bit of roasting action and a great tip from the archives. It's all in this week's update!
1.) Not sure if you know, but Thursday was National Limerick Day. We joined in the fun with a coffee themed effort. Hope you like it...
we've all been there...
2.) We love Farmers Markets. In particular, the opportunity to meet with our customers and talk coffee! Today (Sunday) we are at Aylesford Farmers Market for the first time. Held on the 3rd Sunday of each and every month, the market has upwards of 40 stalls offering artisan food and craft products. If you're local come along and see us. Details: 09:30 - 13:30, Aylesford Priory, Aylesford, Kent ME20 7BX, UK
We've given you a map, so no excuses please...
Find out which other farmers markets are running in Kent and Sussex from the KFMA website.
3.) We listen to music all the time at the roastery and we'd like to share three of our favourite Spotify playlists:
4.) Artisan coffee roasters such as Bean Smitten are rarely satisfied with their efforts. We are always seeking to improve upon what we do and this week we have taken the opportunity to re-profile two coffees: Rwanda Karengera and El Salvador Finca Bonanza. Given how much effort has gone into the cultivation and harvest of the coffee, we believe it's our duty to bring out the very best flavours in the cup. Typically we look for good sweetness, clarity of flavour, decent body and pleasant after taste. Why not give our re-profiled roasts a try?

5.) From the archives - Consider using a pair of scales to improve the consistency of your coffee:
